Description: Lockheed Martin Missiles & Fire Control (LMMFC) is actively seeking Machining & Fabrication candidates for the Engineering & Prototype Laboratory (EPL) facility. EPL provides Engineering & Fabrication support for the Research & Development (R&D) teams within LMMFC.As a Machinist / Model Maker you will be required to work independently with support from the EPL Staff Engineering team utilizing Drawings and 3D Models to develop the Fabrication process and generate NC Code utilizing a CAD/CAM system in a "Build to Print" Machining environment. Machine and Fabricate complex experimental, developmental and prototype hardware and assemblies having multiple set-ups, compound angles, irregular surfaces and exacting tolerances using Multi Axis Mills, Lathes and MillTurns including full 5 Axis Contouring Machining. Responsibilities among others include Planning, Tooling, Work Holding, Fabricating Fixtures, NC Programing and Measuring Machined hardware and assembles at our facility or in the field. Prepare hardware for test or fabrication, with only broad specifications, design criteria, or general approach to the assignment. The method of execution is largely up to the Machinist with the final results relying on the Machinist's skill and knowledge to ensure the parts or assemblies conform to all Engineering requirements. Basic Qualifications: CNC controls using EIA and Conversationalprogramming including Fanuc, Mazak and HAAS.CAM Software experience. CATIA and/orProE/CREO experience a plus.Candidate must be able to write and edit G & MCode including MDI programming.Experience with Fixture Design and Fabrication.General Milling & Turning procedures.Cutting Tool and Holder knowledge and selectionexperience.Knowledge of Speed and Feeds for efficientmachining performance of cutting tools inAluminum and Stainless Steels.In-process inspection of work for qualityassurance using and/or making gages requiredwhen needed.Due to facility requirements, all candidates must be U.S. Citizens Desired Skills: 10 Yrs Experience in a Development & Prototype "Build to Print" Machining environment.Horizontal Boring Mill (G&L) - 5-Axis Full Contouring experience.Mazak Integrex Multi-Axis MillTurn - 5-Axis Full Contouring experience.Mazak VariAxis & Vortex Milling - 5-Axis Full Contouring experience.Mazak SmoothX, Matrix and 640M Control experience.HAAS 3 to 5 Axis Control experience.Thorough knowledge of Speed and Feeds for efficient machining performance of cutting tools in Exotic and Heat Treated materials.Tool Grinding experience a plus.Wire or Sinker EDM experience a plus. Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
