Mission Foods in Pueblo, CO is seeking a Production Supervisor that can direct all departmental and shift personnel to comply with all the production requirements in a effective and safe manner, complying with the norms of quality and safety. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBITLIES: Obtain the Production order for their shift Enforce plant safety rules Take the necessary measures to complete each order Ensure the safety conditions in department (Safety guards, complying with LOTO, Prevent unsafe acts) Take the necessary measures and give the proper instructions to employees Verity that all employees have the necessary materials to do their job and have appropriate safety equipment (bump hat, ear, plugs, etc.) Make sure that all product codes are correct Make sure to read the production reports, including the operators and leads Take decisions with the quality department regarding products put on hold because products are not in correct specifications Comply with the Production Standards, efficiency, waste, overweight, pounds-per-man hour Share all production information from current shift to the supervisor of the next shift Make sure that the product complies with the Total Quality standards Make production report right after shift Fill out accident report in case there is an accident with an employee. Make sure to turn in all information to Human Resources. Conduct safety meetings on a monthly basis Help Develop, implement and follow-up plans to accomplish departmental goals and objectives as per budget Direct supervision of Production Leads & Employees Help Perform safety and sanitation audits Collaborate in the development of the department budget and productivity parameters once per year Participate as an active member in the safety, quality, food safety committees and HACCP Attend all scheduled meetings Enforce all company policies, procedures, and regulations Conduct training sessions for the department employees as needed Must be able to keep administrative paperwork current regarding, schedules, inspections, inventories, and management reports Recommending the hiring of personnel and on the job training Keep employees informed on factors relating to their work assignment, work progress, and opportunity for advancement Evaluating, as deemed necessary by the company, the performance of introductory employees, regular employees, and employees who are being terminated Schedule vacation of production employees Establish and maintain productivity standards Ensure departmental budgets are met Responsible for providing a safe environment for department employees Responsible to produce the necessary resources to ensure ethe effective operation of production department Participate as a member of the safety committee, perform accident reviews and investigations as well as any other special safety assignments Responsible for safety and food safety training being conducted Maintain a good work atmosphere Address, as needed, employee relation issues Develop and implement cost reduction/ methods improvement projects Evaluates product quality internally through taste panels and quality scoring, and externally through market tours Perform other duties as assigned In the absence of Product Manager, the Production supervisor will be responsible for those duties with the assistance of the Plant ManagerSUPERVISORY RESPONSINILITIES: All production employees and Production Leas.QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Total Quality preferred Knowledge in Basic math required Knowledge of Basic Statistics preferred Leadership skills Work Instructions Safety Training Good Manufacturing Practices American Institutes of Baking Food Safety Training Quality Policy Computer Training (PC) SAP Training Mixers Technical Training Video jet Technical Training Operation training on all production equipment Company Rules and Regulations Training Communication and Management SkillsEDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or GED equivalent. College degree preferred.Previous experience in food manufacturing/processingLeadership skillsLANDGUAGE SKILLS:Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, but not necessary WORK ENVIORMENT:Work is typically performed walking (80%), sitting (10%), standing (10%). High noise levels and exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs. of force constantly to move objects.While advising or counseling employees, the individual may, on a limited basis, encounter abusive, aggressive, or unprecedented behavior.
