Overview: Avid Healthcare Services is hiring Pharmacists to work at Sacramento County Facilities in Northern California. You will be responsible for the Dispensing or supervising the dispensation of medications and related supplies, according to physicians' prescriptions. Position: Pharmacists Requirements may include: Current Pharmacists license Valid Drivers License Pass Background Check Current Neg. PPD or Chest X-Ray Current CPR/BLS Certification Dispensing or supervising the dispensation of medications and related supplies, according to physicians' prescriptions Reviewing prescriptions for accuracy Checking for drug interactions Counseling patients regarding appropriate use of medications Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to plan, monitor, review, and evaluate patient effectiveness Recommending drug therapy changes when appropriate Ensuring the pharmacy complies with all local, state, and federal regulations Educating patients and staff on drug therapies Qualifications: Familiarity with medical software and equipment Ability to build rapport with patients Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Demonstrate the ability to effectively use the nursing process Experience in addiction/detox, psych, infectious disease, wound care, and chronic conditions such as diabetes and asthma Qualified applicants are eligible for: Flexible hours/Scheduling/Per Diem Competitive Pay Direct Deposit available 24 hour on-call services Travel Incentives (if applicable) Generous referral bonuses Shift Days range from Monday-Sunday AM shift 0700-1930 PLEASE NOTE THIS POSITION IS IN A CORRECTIONAL FACILITY! *2 weekend days/month availability is required. (2 Saturdays, 2 Sundays or Sat/Sun) *Scheduled days/shifts & location are based on the facility needs *Both facilities are open seven (7) days a week. *Your availability is one of the criteria's reviewed for consideration for this assignment *Your availability is how your schedule is created based on needs of either facility location *All candidates must be available to work days as specified on availability you submit. *This position is per diem. *No benefits are associated with this position.
