PLANNER ESTIMATOR| SIX MILE, LLC Type of Position: Full-Time, Regular Tier: I Location: Kodiak, AK Schedule: Varies FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Project Manager Please be advised that Six Mile - Nika JV and its subcontractors are rejecting the collective bargaining agreement between the predecessor contractor and Teamsters Local 959. Accordingly, employment with members of the Six Mile - Nika JV or its subcontractors under its contract for Base Operation Support Services at the United States Coast Guard Base in Kodiak will not be subject to the terms and conditions of employees' previous collective bargaining agreement with Choctaw Defense Services. Employment with members of the Six Mile-Nika JV or its subcontractors under the Base Operation Support Services Contract at the United States Coast Guard Base in Kodiak will be subject to new terms and conditions of employment, subject to certain requirements under Section 4(c) the Service Contract Act or as otherwise required by applicable law. JOB OVERVIEW Six Mile, LLC (SML) is seeking a Planner Estimator to provide support to a base operations support services contract in Kodiak, AK! This position provides fast, accurate estimates for price and delivery requirements including labor, materials, and subcontract costs. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Researching the cost of items such as materials, transport, labor and equipment. Establishing and maintaining relationships with contractors and vendors. Getting quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame. Assessing the risk levels associated with a project. Preparing and submitting quotations and details of costs for work to be done. Assisting with bids for new contracts and supporting the activities of buyers. Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within the estimated costs. Liaise with material suppliers and sub-contract shops to obtain the best price and delivery. Accurately reviewing customer specifications and drawings. Liaise with all relevant departments regarding design issues. Provide technical assistance to sales department with special part enquiries. Input to production schedules to allow fast response to urgent customer delivery requirements through communication with all departments. All safety rules and regulations in accordance with the organization's HSE Management System, to be conformed to at all times. Ensure that all tasks carried out by team meet company QMS procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. ABOUT YOU Qualifications in Engineering (vocational or degree-level) or experience in working in a hands-on engineering or manufacturing environment or a recent business management graduate with an interest in an engineering-focused career. Experienced in the operation of various types of machine shop equipment preferred. Experience in estimating Price and Deliveries (P&D) for machined components preferred. Repairs & Maintenance and Construction industry knowledge preferred. Experience in the operation of various types of equipment preferred. Previous ERP system experience preferred. Ability to read engineering drawings. Ability to understand technical specifications. Analytical with the ability to understand complex information and excellent problem-solving skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work to strict standards and procedures. Great communications and organizational skills. Sound IT systems/Microsoft Office skills.
