Overview: Blessed Hope Community Church of Vinton, Iowa is seeking a full-time Associate Pastor of Worship and Ministry to join our congregation and ministry team. We are a growing non-denominational church of passionate believers who are committed to bringing hurting people the good news of Jesus. This new and vital leadership position will be primarily focusing on leading and building the worship ministry of our church. Objectives: Blessed Hope Community Church is not just seeking a musician but someone who is called to pastoral ministry with the desire to build Gods local church. Someone who is committed to making disciples, reaching the lost, developing leaders, and taking on the responsibility to faithfully lead the church. We are seeking someone who is a pastor first, then a musician.The Associate Pastor of Worship and Ministry provides leadership to our music and worship ministries and the church at large. He will serve as a pastoral elder under the supervision of the Senior Pastor. He will work directly with the Senior Pastor in cultivating worship services and the worship team to lead through musical worship that brings glory to God and builds the faith of His people. Responsibilities: Worship Leadership Seek excellence in all areas of music and media Organize and lead worship, provide oversight and scheduling of the worship and media ministries Work with the Senior Pastor regarding sermon series, seasonal themes, and service styles Lead rehearsals, develop praise team members, recruit new team members, train and develop new musicians and vocalists Develop a plan to advance the media and musical ministries of the church Pastoral Leadership Partners with the Senior Pastor, Elder Board, and Church Staff in executing the church mission Assist in the recruitment, development, and evaluation of church ministries and leaders Assist in pastoral ministry, which includes preaching, teaching, counseling, funerals, weddings, etc Attend weekly Staff meetings and bi-monthly Elder meetings Qualifications: Professional Preferred Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Two years of related work or ministry experience desired Called and gifted in pastoring/shepherding Leadership skills, organized, ability to develop others, team building Musically skilled and experienced in vocal and instrumental performance Competence in reading/writing music notation, transposing music, understanding chord charts and leading instrumentalists Familiarity with Proclaim, Song Select, Planning Center, etc Proficient technology skills and knowledge, familiar with media and sound equipment Personal Clear testimony of faith, devotion to Jesus, His Church, and His mission Consistent and maturing devotional life Evidence of Biblical qualities of an elder (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; 1 Peter 5:1-4) Committed to moral purity and a healthy relationship with his wife and family. If married, the commitment of his spouse to the call of ministry Good steward of personal finances Compensation and Benefits Salary paid monthly Health Insurance stipend Retirement stipend Paid vacation About Blessed Hope Community ChurchBlessed Hope Community Church is an independent non-denominational church that was established in 2005. In 2019 we successfully merged with another church in town and underwent a name change and rebranding. Through our merger we have our main church building and an additional building in our downtown area that serves as our center for youth ministry (6th-12th grade). We strive to be an evangelical, Bible-oriented, Spirit-filled family of Christians. We exist to bring a hurting world the hope of Jesus.About the Vinton, Iowa CommunityBlessed Hope Community Church is located in the rural community of Vinton, IA. Vintons population is about 5,000 people, however, as the county seat, we also serve surrounding communities in our county. We are a very family-oriented community with great schools, our own movie theater, and an award-winning hospital. In 2021 our parks and rec department completed a big project and we are now home to the longest glow-in-the-dark trail in the United States. Vinton really has just about everything you need here in town, but the nearest Chick-Fil-A is about a 30-minute drive. Our community sits between two of the larger cities in Eastern Iowa (Cedar Rapids and Cedar Falls/Waterloo). This allows us larger community resources while enjoying that small town environment. We truly encompass the phrase Midwest nice.
