The ideal candidate will be an excellent writer with experience managing and mentoring associates and trying cases in both state and federal court. Job Overview:The First Chair Litigation Defense Attorney will manage a diverse docket of insurance cases, provide legal counsel, and mentor associates. They will have significant experience in trying cases in both state and federal court and will be known for their exceptional writing skills. Duties:Oversee a diverse docket of insurance casesProvide legal counsel and representation to clientsManage and mentor associatesTry cases in both state and federal courtConduct legal research and analysisDraft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and briefsCommunicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the courtNegotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution processes Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolAdmission to the State Bar in LouisianaSignificant experience in trying cases in both state and federal courtStrong writing skills and ability to draft persuasive legal documentsExperience managing and mentoring associates Certifications:Admission to the State Bar in Louisiana Skills:Excellent writing and communication skillsStrong legal research and analytical abilitiesAbility to manage a diverse docket of casesExperience in insurance defense litigation is preferred Benefits:The firm offers a competitive salary with a full complement of benefits, including 401K, production bonus, and merit bonus, as well as a unique, one-of-a-kind sabbatical.
