JOB TITLE: Bay Lead New Production Mechanic DEPARTMENT: Production FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt REPORTS TO: Production Manager Summary: Under the direction of the Production Manager-New Builds, the incumbent is responsible for building fluid delivery systems for lube vans, liquid bulk tank trucks and trailers, which includes both fabricating and assembling components used in the building process. The incumbent is also responsible for repairing fluid delivery systems. Supervisory Responsibility: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. Essential Job Functions: Install fluid delivery systems on lube vans, petroleum tank trucks and trailersFabricate components of fluid delivery systems such as meter shelf plates, support brackets, and piping, which involves cutting, bending, welding, and attaching metal and aluminum materialsRead job orders to determine work to be performed per customer requestAssemble ready-made and fabricated components to build fluid delivery systemsRepair fluid delivery systems by replacing malfunctioning partsAll other duties as assignedChampion the Seneca Tank core values Serve the customer above all else Do what you say you will do Understand the value of reputation Whatever you do, do it well Put in More Than You Take Out Compliance: Ensure compliance with Company Safety, OSHA, R-Stamp, and DOT policies/regulations by all personnelEnsure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) affecting ProductionEnsures quality assurance with welding and fabrication on the tank Competencies: Working knowledge of the proper use, maintenance, and repair of tools used on the job, including hand, electric, pneumatic, gas-welding/cutting toolsSkill to properly operate all tools used in the performance of essential job functions, such as hand/power tools and metal brakes/band saws, with accuracy.Skill to repair machines or systems using the needed toolsSkill to determine the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a jobFamiliarity with safety standards common to motor vehicle repair work environmentsAbility to read and comprehend instructions, procedures, policies, and regulations such as those found in work orders, work process protocols, and safety manualsAbility to arrange things or actions in a certain order or pattern according to a specific rule or set of rulesAbility to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong with a tank/chassis unit or component, or a tool utilized in performing workTrouble shooting skill to determine the cause of operating errors and decide what to do about themAbility to read, write, speak and understand EnglishAnalytical thinkingAttention to detailTime management skillsWorking knowledge of arithmetic and its applicationAble to work well with others Physical Demands: Position requires ability to pass DOL requirements of a grade 4 heavy work physical capacity profile. This includes exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly. Visual requirements include clarity of vision at a distance of more than 20 inches and less than 20 feet without correction, color vision, depth perception and field of vision Safety: Follow U.S. Department of Transportation (D.O.T) regulations regarding petroleum tanks, trailers, and box vans, as well as the policies found in Seneca Tank's Safety Manual.
