A successful candidate will have strong excel and multi-tasking skills, be accurate, and be able to work overtime if needed during quarterly close (4x a year). If you have a minimum of 3 years of experience in Accounting, a degree in Economics or Business Administration (Accounting focus), and are seeking a stable routine environment, please apply.Hybrid - flexible 2-3 days in Novi Office per weekWork hours 8am to 5pm, can adjust hours due to road constructionAs an Asahi Kasei America Employee, You will enjoy * Competitive compensation with bonuses * Great health benefits with Wellness Program insurance premium discount * Paid time off * Paid company holidays * Strong company match to 401(k) contributions * Tuition reimbursement program * Paid parental leaveFinancial AccountingDaily and monthly tasks * Creation and review of vouchers and input all AP, AR, journal entries into the accounting system * Verification vendor and bank account information * Monitor AP and AR * Manage subledgers * Review expense reports and upload monthly Concur data into accounting system and create a monthly reimbursement report * Monthly Closing (Bank reconciliations / AR and AP aging check / Inventory reconciliation / Confirmation of Sales with shipping documents, etc.) * Support Trade/other departments in the company * Management of Concur System (Expense report review / Extract and import Concur data / Create reimbursement report / Concur Orientation and User support / Communication with Concur Support Desk, etc.) * Tabulation of received checks and depositsQuarterly and yearly settling of accounts * Creation of closing schedules and notification to concerned parties * Creation of the loan statement to headquarters in Japan * Adjusting entries (accrual and other adjustments) * Creation and/or checking of invoices for service fees and advance payments for Asahi Kasei's US-group companies * Assisting in financial audits by external auditors (answering questions, creation and submission of materials, etc.)Tax accounting * Preparing information required for corporate income tax filings and transfer pricing documentation to the treasurer or accounting manager * Checking of other information required for other tax filings, e.g. Form 1099/1042, prepared by his/her team memberManagerial accounting * Support to create overall budgets and quarterly overall forecasts * Support of variance analysis of budgets versus actualsQualification and skills * Education: Bachelor's degree in Economics or Business Administration (Accounting focus is preferable) with at least 3 years of experience or Associates degree in Accounting with at least 5 years of experience * Language: English (Business level) necessary * Knowledge of US GAAP * Experience of Corporate income tax and payroll (preferable) * High analytical and problem solving skill * Skilled task organizer across departments/sections * MS Office (well-experienced user of Excel is required) * Concur expense system and ERP experiences are preferable#Hybrid#LI-MG1As an equal opportunity employer, Asahi Kasei believes a diverse workforce will provide us with the ability to continuously support the changes in the economy, society, and environment.
