Acenda's expert team helps each individual, family and community move forward in their journey towards health and happiness.Job Overview: Visitation Counselors provide progressive visits for children in foster care and their parents with the goal of improving family functioning so reunification can occur or the children attain permanency. Flexible schedules, agency vehicle, laptop and cell phone provided.Key Responsibilities: * Help maintain the parent-child bond by providing visits for children in foster care and their parents * Coordinate visits between parents and resource parents and transport children to and from visits * Provide visit planning, coaching techniques and debriefing; helping to improve parenting skills and interactions so reunification or permanency can occur * Facilitate meaningful visits; helping parents meet the physical, emotional and developmental needs of their children * Ensure the safety of children and model appropriate interactions between parents and children * Help stabilize families who reunify during our intervention * Work collaboratively with peers, DCP&P and other community providers * Assist parents with concrete needs and link to resources that can assist with reunification goal * Complete documentation consistent with program andagencyrequirements.
