The ideal candidate should possess an advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cellular/molecular biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, or a comparable field. Previous experience in a law firm or industry and current admission to the USPTO are required. Duties:Draft and prosecute patent applications for life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical inventions.Conduct thorough prior art searches and analyze patent and scientific literature.Collaborate closely with inventors, attorneys, and clients to develop effective patent protection strategies.Manage patent portfolios and provide support in patent litigation matters when necessary.Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry developments. Requirements:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cellular/molecular biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, or a related field.Previous experience in a law firm or industry setting.Admission to the USPTO.Minimum of 2 years of experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications for life sciences, biotech, or pharmaceutical inventions.Experience in biotech commercialization, such as university tech transfer, or industry commercialization/regulatory compliance is desirable. Education:Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, cellular/molecular biology, molecular genetics, microbiology, or a relevant discipline. Certifications:Admission to the USPTO. Skills:Outstanding academic credentials.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Proficiency in conducting detailed prior art searches and analyzing patent and scientific literature.Strong collaborative abilities to work effectively with inventors, attorneys, and clients.Comprehensive understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends in biotech and life sciences.Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
