Manufacturing Engineer - Project Management Location: Morgantown, PA How You Will Make an Impact? The Manufacturing Engineer Project Manager will develop, implement and maintain safe, optimal and cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. This role will recommend and implement improvements to production processes, methods and controls. The Nuts and Bolts * Supports research, design and the development of safe manufacturing processes, including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment * Consults with stakeholders to determine functional and spatial requirements of new structure or renovation, and prepares information regarding design, specifications, materials, equipment, estimated costs and construction time. * Prepares and maintains detailed layouts of the facilities property, buildings and equipment * Supports and may lead the manufacturing launch of new/revised products including establishing goals, training team members and evaluating results * Designs, develops and tests and/or sources and cost-justifies various tools, machinery and equipment, and refrigerated insulation processes for the safe manufacturing of truck bodies and components * Prepares capital projects for new equipment and processes * Safely launches machines, process, methods and/or tooling technologies with >99% effectiveness * Documents lessons learned and communicates among the Mfg. Engineering discipline * Provides technical process expertise for plant and supplier quality issues * Performs other related duties as assigned Required Credentials * Experience managing manufacturing startup projects, including: scope development, business case analysis, execution and closeout. * Proven track record of successfully completing manufacturing projects on schedule and within budget. * Ability to think strategically and plan projects over a 6-12 month horizon * Experience with existing manufacturing technologies, including but not limited to: welding, joining, metal working, manual assembly; certification in a field is a plus * 5+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing environment, 4+ years of work experience in a comparable industry * Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering desired. * Experience with factory automation, maintenance, and integrating engineering designs into production - highly desirable * Practical Lean principles experience with proven success using the tools * Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, AutoCAD, Minitab * Proven ability to facilitate change and knowledge of lean tools and techniques * Strong leadership experience and strong team player * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral * Quality orientation and attention to detail * Problem analysis and problem resolution; Green Belt certification, Black Belt a plus You Must Be Able to * Working in an office environment in a seated position a minimum of eight hours per day is required. At times, this job operates in a manufacturing plant environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear . The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms .
