We offer: Competitive compensation Tuition reimbursement Pension plan and 403B Shift stipends Relocation Assistance Potential for sign on bonus Job Duties: We provide perioperative care of cardiothoracic surgical patients from consultation to discharge. Essential duties and responsibilities include: Critical care management of patients following cardiothoracic surgery which may include but not limited to aortic surgery, coronary artery bypass grafting, thoracic surgery, and valve surgery. Collaborates with the attending physician to manage mechanical circulatory support devices (ECMO, IABP, and LVAD devices). Communicates the plan of care with the multidisciplinary team including changes in the patient condition. Documentation of patient's condition and plan of care in the electronic medical record. Opportunities for procedural skills common to the intensive care setting (bronchoscopy, central lines, and chest tubes). Ordering and interpreting the spectrum of diagnostic tests relative to the patient condition. Responds to emergency responses and provides medical stabilization until definitive management can occur. The shifts are 13 hours. Day is 7A : 8P Night is 8P : 7A. What We Require:Education: Graduate of an Accredited Nurse Practitioner program. Licensure/Certification: Current Virginia State Licensed Nurse Practitioner (NP) and DEA license required, or must be eligible to obtain. AHA BLS:HCP certification required. Advanced Life Support certification required. Eligible for prescriptive authority in accordance with State regulations and as authorized by the Virginia Boards of Medicine. Capable of meeting credentialing or job function requirements as needed based on the requirements of the practice and of managed care payors and insurers. Qualifies for malpractice insurance and is accepted by Carilion Clinics malpractice insurance carrier. Other: Able to work collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers. Demonstrates good written and oral communication skills. Computer literacy required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. About CarilionThis is Carilion Clinic ...
