Construction Project Consultant II: This advertisement is for a full:time, Career Service position located at Gulf Correctional Institution in the Maintenance Department. Salary: 40, : 84, annually The selected candidate will start at the above listed appointment rate. SPECIFIC DUTIES: This is a highly advanced position requiring a minimum of five (5) years of experience in the commercial construction field. The position serves as a Subject Matter Expert for new construction and major maintenance repair and renovation projects at institutional facilities Statewide. This position will serve as the team leader for major repairs and renovations to various components of a correctional facility. The incumbent in this position is responsible for, but not limited to: : Serve as Team Lead for various plumbing, electrical, cabinetry/carpentry, masonry, HVAC, drywall, roofing, and associated systems necessary to operate a major institution.:Assists in training correctional institutions General Maintenance staff within the region.:Administers construction projects accomplished by a Construction Manager or General Contractor.:Administers construction projects accomplished by agency personnel and inmate labor.:Develops work plans, project budgets, and project schedules.:Oversees the establishment of work crews.:Prepares materials and cost estimates.:Prepares schedules of values.:Establishes specifications, prepares bid packages, analyzes bids and recommends awards, reviews and approves shop drawings.:Makes periodic visits to job sites to review the progress and reviews and resolves construction problems.:Reviews and approves invoices.:Briefs supervisors on the progress of projects, conducts substantial and final inspections and certifies completions, assures compliance by staff with contract documents and specifications, and provides coordination between all parties involved.
