Date Posted: 08/29/2023 Req ID: 33679 Faculty/Division: Faculty of Arts & Science Department: Department of Art History Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: Course Number and Title: FAH230H1F – Renaissance Art and Architecture Course Description: A selective survey of the major art centres and types of artistic and architectural production in Italy and northern Europe, from the early fifteenth century to the mid-sixteenth. Themes include the relations--artistic, economic and ideological--between northern and southern Europe during this period, the changing role of art in religious life, the emergence of secular themes, and the legacies left by Renaissance art to modern life and culture. Estimated Course Enrolment: 180 students Estimated TA Support: 280 hours Class Schedule: Tuesdays 3-5 pm. This course is currently designated to meet in-person. Please note that, in keeping with current circumstances, the course delivery mode may change as determined by the Faculty or Department. Sessional Dates of Appointment: September 1, 2023 to December 31, 2023; Final backssment period December 9-22, 2023. Please note: This position includes the completion of any course work and marking not finished by December 31, 2023. Salary: $9,457.50 for Sessional Lecturer I; $9,930.79 for Sessional Lecturer I - Long Term; $10,121.76 for Sessional Lecturer II; $10,326.61 for Sessional Lecturer II - Long Term $10,362.76 for Sessional Lecturer III; $10,570.01 for Sessional Lecturer III - Long Term Should rates stipulated in the collective agreement vary from rates stated in this posting, the rates stated in the collective agreement shall prevail. Minimum Qualifications: Ph D in Art History, preferably in Early Modern European art; if the Ph D is in progress, the qualifying exam must already have been passed.
