Addiction & Mental Health Worker Classification: Peer Support Coordinator Full-Time, Contract - up to 5 months Multi-Site Accountability; Oxford Catchment Area - Application Deadline: August 23, 2023 – Within the mission and philosophy of CMHA TVAMHS and the values of Peer Support Canada, the Peer Support Coordinator will utilize their lived experience with mental health and/or addictions to provide formal Peer Support through one-on-one and group engagement, as well as community outreach. The coordinator will advocate for peer rights and support self-advocacy, assist peers with goal achievement, wellness planning, and build tools to support individual wellbeing. This role will work collaboratively with staff, peers, the community, and other professionals to support and strengthen the wellbeing of individuals served. This role also involves opportunities for ongoing professional development and continuing education to support the safe and effective delivery of Peer Support and mental health and addictions services. Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible. WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making - $24.21 per hour When you'll work - 70 hours over a two week period Your pension plan - Immediately eligible for optional enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) PSLRTA Notice - This posting characterizes this position as currently unionized under the Oxford Collective Agreement. However, please be aware that the organization on September 29, 2022, a vote was held as a result of an application by the Organization under the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act.
