Addiction and Mental Health Worker, Peer Support - Street Outreach, Elgin Classification: Mental Health Worker Full-time, Permanent Multi-Site Accountability; Elgin Catchment Area - Application Deadline: August 23, 2023 – Within the mission and philosophy of CMHA TVAMHS and the values of Peer Support Canada, as the Peer Support Worker, Street Outreach you will utilize your lived experience with mental health and/or addictions to provide formal Peer Support While working in diverse settings, including in street outreach (e. g. downtown core streets, encampments, housing sites), in community-based venues, hospital, or other healthcare settings. You will lend your expertise of lived experience in the areas of community inclusion, service engagement, and wellness programming through individualized supports and group facilitation. This position is primarily St. Thomas focused, with occasional visits to surrounding areas in Elgin County. Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible. WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making - $27.48 per hour, with possible additional shift premiums of $1.18/hour for registration with an accepted college (OCSWSSW, COTO, CNO, CRPO, CPO), or the TRO, and/or completed Masters education relevant to this position, for a maximum premium of $2.36/hour When you'll work - 70 hours over a two week period; shifts may include days, afternoon, evenings & weekends Your pension plan - Immediate enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) PSLRTA Notice - This posting characterizes this position as currently unionized under the Elgin Collective Agreement.
