Addiction and Mental Health Worker, Housing Focused Street Outreach Housing Mental Health Worker (OPSEU, Elgin) Full-Time, Permanent St. Thomas; Elgin County Catchment Area - Application Deadline: August 17, 2023 - We are passionate about ending homelessness, and believe that everyone has the right to quality housing and to live with dignity. Through compassionate, genuine, and thoughtful care and connection, our Housing Focused Street Outreach program works to instill hope in individuals experiencing both chronic and acute addictions and mental health concerns within our community. As a member of our Housing Focused Street Outreach program, you’ll work with this vulnerable population to build a trauma informed therapeutic relationship while focusing on the strengths and dignity of each individual client. You’ll also connect with community business owners and citizens/passer byers to support feelings of safety and break the myths and extend supportive insights of how, together, we can support clients experiencing homelessness. Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) completed within the last six months. In order to avoid delays in beginning a position, interested applicants who are in need of a PVSC are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible. WHAT WE'RE OFFERING: What you'll be making - $27.48 per hour, with possible additional shift premiums of $1.18/hour for registration with an accepted college (OCSWSSW, COTO, CNO, CRPO, CPO), or the TRO, and/or completed Masters education relevant to this position, for a maximum premium of $2.36/hour When you'll work - 70 hours over a two week period, Monday to Friday 8:00am - 4:00pm Your pension plan – Immediate enrolment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP) Your benefits – After 90 days will be enrolled in healthcare benefits plan PSLRTA Notice - This posting.
