Nurse Practitioner 0.5 EFT Permanent Posting End Date: Open until filled Site: Nor West Co-op Community Health Centre – Primary work site will be the Gilbert Park Resource Centre (Primary Care Outreach site) Department / Unit: Primary Care Union: MNU-WCHREO Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible FTE: 0.5 EFT Status : Permanent Anticipated Shift: Days/Evenings/Weekends Daily Hours Worked: 7.75 Salary: $50.675, $54.394, $56.631, $58.864, $61.275, $63.113 Position Overview The Nurse Practitioner will function within an interdisciplinary primary health care team as a first-line provider of episodic care (WICCC), primary health care, prevention and promotion to clients living in the Inkster/Seven Oaks Community and beyond. This position will primarily work at the Gilbert Park Resource Centre which is a primary care outreach site, collaborating with the Community Development team on a daily basis. The position may include work at other Nor West community-based sites as required. The Nurse Practitioner : Applies advanced nursing and medical theory to the provision of clinical care, autonomously ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescribing pharmacologic agents and performing minor invasive procedures. Applies current/relevant nursing and medical theory, which allows for contribution to knowledge, development and involvement in advancing the nursing profession. Incorporates medical knowledge and advanced nursing knowledge; integrates this knowledge and experiential base into clinical practice. Demonstrates competence to practice autonomously in the implementation of strategies to promote health and prevent illness, is proficient in planning, implementing and evaluating complex care, and demonstrates competence to teach others. Provides for problem solving among staff or between staff and patients/residents/clients and with physicians and multidisciplinary team.
