Job Description Duration: 8 months - 12 months Positions Available: 1 Intake Date: Monday, May 6, 2024 Application Deadline: Monday, February 5, 2024 (we will be reviewing applications on a rolling basis) Minimum Qualifications: Must currently be enrolled in a recognized and accredited Canadian post-secondary institution throughout the duration of the co-op term. You must also be returning to a post-secondary institution after the co-op term is completed. Depending on the needs and location of the team, you will need to work PST or MDT or relocate to a specific office (Vancouver or site-based) Desired Background: We are specifically looking for a student with a background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical engineering or a related field. As a Engineering co-op, you will be able to support senior engineers in exciting projects, so don't miss out on this opportunity and join our team! Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures Participation in the health and safety programs of Teck to ensure that everyone on site goes home safe and healthy every day Collaborate with engineering team to produce detailed plan technical projects on site such as developing maintenance strategies for critical fixed assets. Opportunity to assist in coordination of maintenance projects relating to plant, mine and maintenance expansions and modifications; responsible for organizing, scheduling and monitoring the status of maintenance projects Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business Troubleshooting recurrent failures and determining root causes Collaborating with engineering and site operations to organize, schedule, manage costs, analyze data, and monitor progress of projects Create and evaluate innovative ideas and technologies to help improve the way we do business Qualifications Working towards an Undergraduate degree in Mechanical or Electrical.
