You’ll be supporting our customers in Newcastle and Gateshead LD, which provides support to adults with Learning Disabilities, identifying the things they want and aspire to do in their lives. This will include the backssment and management of a range of complex occupational therapy needs, diverse presentations and a range of learning disabilities conditions. You’ll identify and facilitate collaboratively skills development programmes and support customers to achieve their goals through engaging in meaningful and purposeful everyday activities important to them and for them. You’ll work closely with our Support Workers to deliver personalised interventions, formulation meetings and from this develop goal-based recovery and wellbeing focused plans, as well as regularly reviewing customer progress. You will hold responsibility for the line management and mentoring of an OT apprentice, supporting them in their journey to be a qualified clinician. You’ll be joining an established national team of occupational therapists and have opportunities to participate within the wider OT workforce, influencing the evolution of occupational therapy in the organisation, and developing both your practice and career.
