POSITION SUMMARY: Provides maximum program coordination and student discipline in recreational activities, in compliance with governmentand management directives. QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: Associate of arts degree and 3 years of related experience working with youth.DIRECT REPORTS:N/A JOB DUTIES: Assist Recreation Supervisor in planning and conducting the recreation program.Organize and supervise student recreational activities.Provide student instruction in developing and improving recreational skills and participation in team and individualsports, arts and crafts, culture tours, and community events.Supervise off-center recreational activities.Encourage participation in intramural sports, leagues, or tournaments sponsored by community groups, churchorganizations, and other Job Corps Centers.Meet with students individually or in groups to determine and develop their interests.Make recommendations for policy and operating revisions.Maintain equipment and materials accountability.Coordinate special recreation activities for new students.Operate in accordance with requirements set in the contract, PRH, guides, Standard Operating Procedures, andcorporate policies.Complete all required training according to Job Corps and Company training schedule.Advise and support students as a mentor and role model in the achievement of their learning and career goals.Contribute to cultivation of positive Center culture which is free of harassment, discrimination, intimidation, anddisrespect to provide a safe place for staff and students to work and learn.Promote 6 C's of Positive Youth Development by treating students respectfully as adults and developing positivestudent relationships.Promote development of Career Success Standards by modeling expected behaviors, mentoring students andfellow staff to aid in their growth, and monitoring student behavior for accountability and recognition.Provide quality customer service to students, staff, and other Center customers.Participate in student employability programs and activities.Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps Zero Tolerance Policy.Maintain a safe and clean work area, adhering to all safety guidelines.Other duties as assigned.
