Through its merger with Oil Search, Santos has acquired and assumed operatorship over a world-class portfolio of oil leases on the Alaskan North Slope, USA. Our focus in Alaska is advancement of our Pikka Phase 1 project, which includes a single drill site, an oil processing facility, and other infrastructure to support production of 80,000 barrels of oil per day. Pikka has been identified as being among the top quartile of oil and gas development projects for greenhouse gas emissions performance. Pikka is poised to play an important role in the energy transition and is aligned with our company goal of managing climate change risk. Santos and its partner Repsol has committed the funding for Pikka Phase 1 and is on track to deliver first oil by 2026. The Pikka Unit is one of the largest conventional oil discoveries made in the United States in the last 30 years, and the Pikka Phase 1 Project is the most significant development on Alaska's North Slope in more than 20 years. The permitted Pikka development project includes two additional drill sites. The Alaska assets also include discoveries made from both the Mitquq and Stirrup exploration wells drilled in 2020. These opportunities combine to offer a clear path to long-term growth in Alaska. POSITION PURPOSE The position is for an integrated Commissioning and Stat-up role, it will be a project-based position for project planning and execution phase focused on oversight and manage all different electrical technician executing commissioning activities for the complete Pikka project. The role will support the Commissioning Manager in delivering the preparation and execution of commissioning activities providing commissioning completion activities, including planning and execution, support during pre-commissioning in the different fabrication yards and the North Slope, commissioning, and start-up activities, and oversee the commissioning technician contractors. The position will serve as the electrical authorities carefully planning and ensuring a safety execution of all medium and low-voltage electrical pre-commissioning and commissioning activities, as well as ensuring that strong relationships are maintained between Commissioning / Electrical contractor/EPC and all commissioning personnel. This position will be based on Santos HQ in Anchorage, AK for the planning phase, performing multiples visits to the fabrication yards. On field execution, the position will be moved to the North Slope on rotational basis of 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Lead by example and adhere to standards of Health, Safety and Environmental (HSE) and comply with the Santos Health, Safety & Environment Management System requirements. Coach personnel on safety observation and hazard identification.Follow and maintain Company standards of Quality in accordance with Company Quality System requirementsOversee and direct contractor's electrical technician, related to electrical activities such as, HV switch boards, MV/LV switchboards, MV/LV transformers, protection relays, Control relays, current & Voltage transformers, HV cable testing, according to Manuals, and Quality procedure. Inspect work for quality.Review and approve electrical commissioning procedures to be implemented and executed by the commissioning contractors.Provide daily / weekly updates to the Commissioning Manager and raise any concerns that may affect handover in line with the project sub - system delivery schedule.Lead and plan inspection, commissioning support and troubleshooting electrical equipment for Pikka facilities. Direct and oversee technicians as they complete the commissioning systems.Coordinate commissioning resources and take accountability for the successful commissioning, checkout, and energization of the electrical equipment and systems across the facility.Manage, coordinate and monitor the commissioning of the specified systems.Sign-off and approve logbooks of recorded commissioning and operational events.Manage vendor call out plan with vendor's equipment support for electrical commissioning activitiesSponsor and oversee participation in completion of training programs so adherence to operations guidelines and specifications is ensured. Facilitate various training sessions and assurance of worker competency.Implement and deliver overall safety. Understand and implement the electrical isolation / LOTO procedures associated with construction, commissioning, and operation of the electrical distribution system. Ensure these procedures are followed by commissioning technicians.Prepare and follow up the project electrical individual activity reportAnalyze and make independent recommendations regarding solutions to challenges in the systems or with technician performance in accordance with organization and/or project objectives and guidelines.Approve Electrical ITRs to ensure that they meet project specification and are aligned with the Completion Management System database QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Formal Qualifications Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical related field preferred Experience Experienced professional conversant with Oil and Gas Commissioning processes and operation.Minimum of 15 years in the oil and gas industry and capital projects.Minimum 10 years' oil and gas industry experience in in Hook - up & Commissioning projects.Experience in working in simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) in major capital projects.Ability to adapt to changing deadlines and achieve project goals and milestones.Ability to develop detailed technical procedures, documents, and work instruction and reports.Good understanding of Completions Management System methods and workflow, combined with an ability to fit design to deliverable.Conversant with relevant international standards and Client Codes or Practice and their application to the Completions processDemonstrated Health, Safety and Environmental Awareness.Demonstrated written and oral communication skills across multiple employee levels and outside stakeholders.Good written and verbal communication skills
