Mechanic (Auto or Diesel) As a well know Carrier Refrigeration, Volvo, and Hino dealership, we have 13 locations throughout Illinois, Missouri and Wisconsin. Job Duties: Performing mechanical repairs of medium and heavy-duty diesel trucks Perform basic electrical, technical, welding and mechanical repairs Road test vehicles when necessary to diagnose malfunctions or to ensure they are properly working Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using testing equipment such as a laptop, motor analyzers, temperature and pressure gauges Identify warranty repairs and document properly on the repair order Keep work area clean and safe Complete required documentation for work order files and customer billing Other duties as assigned Desired Competencies: Knowledge and experience with mechanics or a related field Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose and repair medium and heavy-duty vehicles Detail oriented Ability to work independently or in a team environment Ability to read wiring diagrams (preferred) Flexibility to meet changing demands Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver's license with clean driving record 2+ years' experience as a Truck Technician or similar position (preferred) Cummins Certified (preferred) Benefits include: Quarterly or Monthly Bonuses Paid Weekly Referral Bonuses Health, Dental and Vision Insurance 401K with company matching Company paid Short-term & Long-Term Disability Insurance Company paid Life Insurance Annual Boot & Tool Allowance Gateway Truck & Refrigeration is an equal opportunity employer.
