DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: Schaefer's Cutting Department uses industry leading bending technology to form laser cut parts for electrical enclosure fabrication. The Bending Department houses a fully automated bending work center adapted for high volume versatility, supplemented with a range of CNC press brakes, to achieve Schaefer's signature customization. Schaefer's consistent-paced high-energy work environment is built around a culture of employee-centered development, team focused engagement, and lean manufacturing principles. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Correctly select specific product folder tooling. Program, operate, and adjust CNC controls. Read and interpret production drawings and other engineering aids. Use precision measurement tools to check for dimensional part accuracy. Make routine decisions and use analytical strategies to solve nonconformance issues. Perform assigned work within time standards and quality expectations. Account for time and work completed through labor reporting system. Report and document basic material, production, and quality control issues. Conduct and document operator preventive maintenance as scheduled. Report and document equipment malfunction to the Maintenance Department and direct supervisor. Work overtime, as needed, to meet departmental production demands. QUALIFICATIONS Flexible and responsive with strong teamwork orientation. Good verbal and written communication skills. Desire to learn new skills and improve technical knowledge. Strong orientation towards quality, safety, and continuous improvement. Ability to work efficiently in a fast paced environment meeting team expectations. Commitment to quality and accuracy of work performed. Ability to effectively implement and respond to change. Ability to work independently. Positive and strong work ethic. Understanding and application of company policies and procedures. Safety conscious behavior. Demonstrates excellent attendance through employment history. EXPERIENCE: Folder / Press Brake Operator: 1 year (Preferred) Manufacturing experience: 1 year (Required) PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Physical effort equal to frequent lifting, stooping, bending, or moving of materials weighing up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand for extended periods of time. To maintain the safety and health of all employees, Schaefer's is committed to maintaining a drug-free facility.
