Job Location San Diego, CA, Onsite J ob Description GALT Aerospace is seeking an IT Support Technician to work 100% onsite in their San Diego location. The IT Support Technician is a junior, entry level role within GALT's IT operations department. The selected candidate is responsible for the day ‐ to ‐ day operation of the organization's computer systems and will provide technical support and must interact across the company to include all departments. The candidate will be taught and perform user account support tasks, computer setup, troubleshooting, repairs, basic network/server maintenance, and system administration. You will be challenged and expected to perform outside of your comfort zone of IT help desk. Install and configure computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners Monitor and maintain computer systems and keep configurations consistent with organizational standards and are carried out in a timely manner Helpdesk / Service Desk supporting on-site as well as remote users at different locations (work from home, remote offices, remote job sites, etc.) Onboarding and Offboarding lifecycles Asset management User account management Responding to service issues and requests Repairing and replacing computer equipment Develop and maintain complete documentation for supported systems. Implement and enforce policies & procedures based on IT security standards Required Skills, Experience, and Education Certificate or degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or Engineering 1-2 years of experience in basic computer technology in IT environments 1-2 years of experience with Windows, Linux, or Mac OS environments Basic experience with various networking environments, technologies, or vendors Basic experience with cloud-based technology Basic experience with Microsoft Office products Understanding and management of priorities and ability to change multiple tasks regularly Preferred Qualifications, Experience, and Education Basic experience with Windows and Linux system administration Basic experience in implementation of IP-based networks including LAN or WAN Basic experience with troubleshooting networking issues Basic experience with shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python) Team player with a proactive attitude and the ability to be productive in a fast pace, dynamic environment Strong critical and analytical thinking Ability to take initiative, multitask and work well under pressure Excellent written and verbal communication skills Must be able to work in a collaborative environment Physical Requirements Must be able to sit or stand for 1 hour at a time Must be able to operate a computer At GALT Aerospace, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as one grows and develops within a role.
