Overview The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of company vehicles and equipment. Company Benefits Company-paid health insurance (dental, short-term and long-term disability and life insurance are provided) Zero deductibles 100% 401k match (up to 5% of salary) Paid holiday & vacation time Educational assistance Various discount programs Duties/Responsibilities: Service and repair company vehicles and electrical power line construction equipment Ensure equipment is properly serviced and repaired on a timely basis Perform complete inspections of vehicles and equipment and report issues to the Fleet Maintenance Department Comply with federal and state vehicle requirements Comply with company and federal safety rules, policies, and procedures Complete and submit all required documents in an accurate and timely manner Overtime, weekends, and overnight travel may be required Perform other duties as assigned Cross-train in all facets of Fleet, preparing to fill in for anyone absent and to grow in responsibility and scope over time. The person in this role will uphold the culture of Utilitra, including relationship building with customers as well as general behavior on Utilitra or client premises or at Utilitra-sponsored events. Requirements/Qualifications: Must possess a Class B valid CDL, Air Brake Endorsement Must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Extended periods of driving may be required at times Ownership of repair tools 1-year diesel road mechanic experience preferred; electrical construction experience preferred Experience with Smart Phones, tablets, and laptops preferred Experience with welding preferred Maintain and establish cooperative working relationships Speak effectively with customers and employees of the company Ability to work with minimal to no supervision and perform independent tasks based upon the general direction Physical Requirements: Ability to regularly lift 40 pounds and periodically lift up to 75 pounds Ability to climb up into big rigs, crawl under vehicles, maneuver around equipment and vehicles to work on them Ability to manipulate hands, arms, and fingers to use hand tools and power tools Ability to see in minimal light at times, differentiating color and texture to identify concerns Utilitra is committed to building and sustaining an equitable and inclusive work environment where diversity is expected and valued.
