Position Overview Processing and sterilizing medical and surgical instrumentation and various related supplies and equipment required by Resident Care Units and the various Clinics throughout the Health Centre as well the Surgical Complex and some external health care clinics. Experience Six (6) months previous experience in MDR functions in a health care environment an asset. Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate) Grade 12. Must have successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing Technician program with certification. Certification/Licensure/Registration Completion of Ethylene Oxide certification. It is recommended that, at minimum, staff possess the Family & Friends category of training. Qualifications and Skills Works within MHC’s core values, philosophy, vision, CQI goals, policies and procedures. Ability to function as an effective member of an interdisciplinary team, including collaboration, team work and good communication skills. Excellent communication skills and a good command of the English language. Follows departmental policies and procedures in accordance to understanding and applying the principles of infection control, disinfection and sterilization.
