Technical Support Officer – Islington Temp Vacancy Pay Rate: £19.05ph Full-Time 35 hours Job Purpose: As a Licensing Support Officer you will be responsible for managing a mixed case load of applications, providing regulatory advise, working closely with Licensing Officers as well as maintaining our records and carrying out general administrative functions. Working alongside a wide range of internal and external partners and licenced businesses you will help us to achieve our ambition for a more equal future through the provision of a well-regulated licence sector and a safer night time economy. Some duties may require you to carry out site visits with the Licensing Officers or to do Notice checks and delivery of consultations. Accountabilities: To provide a response to written, telephone and personal enquiries and refer enquiries requiring more detailed attention to the appropriate officer and service unit. Provide information and advice service to members of the public, councillors and other officers Making statutory registers available, including use of technology Advising on information held in registers Advice on the progress of applications, committee/delegated procedures and decisions where applicable Checking payment transactions made correctly and taking payments Receiving applications at the enquiries desk and checking any payment transactions made correctly Provide a reception service for the department to members of the public and other visitors Process applications and payments and maintain associated records. Receive payments in cash, by cheque and credit/debit card, issue receipts and maintain records; prepare monies for banking on a weekly basis. Calculate fees and raise invoices, investigate invoice queries arising and liaise with central finance where applicable To assist in the co-ordination and collation of management information and performance statistics for local and national performance indicators, including the monitoring.
