Closing : November 10, 2023 The Technical Services Engineer supports the sales and marketing of Teck refined metal products by providing technical support to the company’s metal customers, potential customers, and to the Metals Sales staff. This role communicates with Trail Operations personnel (Production, Quality, Analytical, etc. ) regarding Teck product specifications and quality, review of customer’s material specifications, new product opportunities, and technical developments or issues related to end use applications for Trail products. Other responsibilities include conducting or leading technical investigations, requiring external metallurgical service resources, to assist metal customers with product or process related problems. Closely cooperating with the metal sales staff, the Technical Services Engineer may participate in customer-focused product end use studies, and market development activities. We are specifically looking for an individual with outstanding interpersonal skills, and able to connect with individuals of a diverse set of backgrounds. Responsibilities Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures. Provide technical and marketing services to Teck’s metal customers. Investigate and respond to customer technical problems and inquiries. Participate on technical or marketing committees of various industry associations. Develop and maintain good relations with customers and with trade and industry associations. Monitor, gather and backss technical and environmental activities and developments in industries using metal marketed by the company. Work with the Metal Sales team to improve return by using technical and marketing resources. Liaise with Trail on customer requirements (quality, specifications, packaging) for products and services.
