Date Posted: 11/22/2023 Closing Date: 01/08/2024 , 11:59PM ET Req ID: 35053 Job Category: Faculty - Clinical Faculty/Division: Temerty Faculty of Medicine Department: Dept of Medicine Hospital Affiliation: University Health Network (UHN) & Sinai Health System (SHS) Campus: St. George (Downtown Toronto) Description: The Department of Medicine, Temerty Faculty of Medicine at the University of Toronto and the Divisions of General Internal Medicine and Geriatrics of the University Health Network (UHN) and Sinai Health System (SHS) are seeking to recruit 1-2 academic general internists, to be based primarily at Toronto General Hospital (TGH) and SHS. The successful candidate should have an interest in inpatient and ambulatory general internal medicine, as well as an interest in building our ambulatory and/or perioperative medicine programs. Candidates must currently hold or be eligible for a University of Toronto full-time clinical academic appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor and should fulfill the academic position description of a Clinician Teacher. Effective estimated start date will be July 2024, or sooner as mutually agreed upon. This position will have a 75% clinical component with the remainder of time devoted to teaching and scholarship. The mix of responsibilities will depend on the successful candidate’s background and the needs of the specific site. Competitive candidates will possess outstanding communication, teaching, organizational and interpersonal skills that enable them to work collaboratively with other physicians, learners, hospital staff and administrators. Additional training in perioperative medicine, POCUS and other teaching is desired. The successful applicant will have a proven record of excellence in education/teaching. Excellence will be backssed by the presence of scholarly contributions to teaching and education as evidenced by pedagogical innovation, curriculum development, experience in teaching.
